Position Summary

 

Researches, designs, and develops large-scale and/or high profile innovative and practical learning solutions that support the needs of both the business and the learners. Updates and repurposes existing learning content. Supports all functions within the Advantage Solutions organization.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the development strategies and approaches for new learning initiatives. Act as a liaison between internal customers and the learning team in determining the needs of the courses and appropriate method of delivery.
  • Proactively work with business partners to define and resolve workplace performance challenges and opportunities.
  • Analyze current state environment, including analysis of performance gaps and job/task/needs analysis. Synthesize the data gathered to create models and recommendations.
  • Writes learning objectives to describe desired outcomes and ensures learning materials support those objectives. Work directly with technical subject matter experts to capture course-specific knowledge.
  • Identifies appropriate metrics to evaluate effectiveness of learning activities.
  • Partners with Learning & Organizational Development associates, and/or subject matter experts to research content information. Ensure compliance with company policies, standards and processes to maintain consistency and quality with project delivery.
  • Design and develop blended learning training programs including instructor-led, technical systems and computer-based training delivery methods.
  • Create & Mange project documentation including the design templates, standards, style guides, technical specifications, straw models, train-the-trainer, and pilot materials.
  • Manages project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Designs and develops instructionally sound curriculum, including tools, job aids, instructor-led training, and self-study materials.
  • Manages design documents and storyboards for e-learning projects, for both systems and non-systems content.
  • Design, develop, and implement measurement and evaluation strategies to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of learning solutions on performance.
  • Create thought leadership by being aware of leading edge learning solutions and market trends. Remains abreast of adult learning principles and theory, instructional design methods and evaluation techniques. Including software, technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

 

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

 

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Travel and Driving are essential duties and function of this job 

Travel up to 30%

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

                         (Preferred): Master's Degree or equivalent experience                 

 

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

7+ years of experience in of related professional experience in instructional design for either ILT & e-learning, preferably in a sales and/or marketing company.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Advanced skills with Articulate Storyline 2, Adobe Creative Cloud Suite – Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign etc, Video production/editing experience preferred.
  • Experience using and maintaining content within a Learning Management System.
  • Experience with video editing including recording, editing, and deploying video and audio.
  • Multimedia learning design experience preferred, to include mobile learning technology, video based learning, and virtual learning methods.
  • Experience utilizing project management knowledge, skills, tools, technology and techniques to support and drive program integration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as initiative and solid judgment abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects, people, and the ability to analyze, interpret, and utilize data
  • Personnel Management: Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work.
  • Team Building and Development: Ability to encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Conflict Resolution and Negotiation: The ability to handle complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances and conflicts, and/or otherwise negotiate with others.
  • Project Management: Good understanding of project management principles and ability to apply those principles to a variety of projects.
  • Learning Principles and Methods: Thorough understanding of adult learning principles and methods, and ability to apply those principles and methods to both e-learning and paper-based projects.
  • Learning Evaluation and Measurement: Basic understanding of learning evaluation and measurement principles, and ability to apply those principles.
  • Systems Analysis: The ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
  • Technology: Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Building Customer Satisfaction: Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. (for the building client relationships piece you want to add)
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: The ability to organize and prioritize workload for optimum efficiency.
  • Accuracy and Quality: The ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Oral Comprehension and Expression: The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, as well as the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others (at all levels including management, associates, the public, and outside vendors) will understand.
  • Written Comprehension and Expression: The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, as well as the ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others (at all levels including management, associates, the public, and outside vendors) will understand.
  • Confidentiality and Discretion: Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Working Conditions: The ability to perform the job safely and utilize proper safety techniques and use of equipment when appropriate.

 

Environmental & Physical Requirements

 

Office / Sedentary Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
