    Position Summary


    Junior Web Developers participate in the planning, documentation, execution and testing of web projects.     Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities


    Participate in planning, documentation, execution, testing, and launch of projects

    • Installation, configuration and execution of one or more of the following CMS systems and development frameworks: Primarily WordPress, Sitecore, Expression Engine, Drupal
    • Database configuration and optimization

    Coordinate with strategists, creative directors, IA/UX, interactive producers, designers, digital production to improve final deliverables

    • Works with creative team to define and implement program concepts on the web and other interactive applications including mobile


    • Design, build, or maintain web sites, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
    • Perform or direct web site updates.
    • Write, design, or edit web page content, or direct others producing content.
    • Confer with management or development teams to prioritize needs, resolve conflicts, develop content criteria, or choose solutions.
    • Identify problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback, and correct problems or refer problems to appropriate personnel for correction.
    • Evaluate code to ensure that it is valid, is properly structured, meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems.
    • Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading, or participation in professional conferences, workshops, or groups.
    • Analyze user needs to determine technical requirements

    Minimum Qualifications


    Education Level: (Required): High School Diploma or GED  or equivalent experience

                             (Preferred): Bachelor's Degree  or equivalent experience               


    Field of Study/Area of Experience:  Computer Science or Creative Technology

    At least 2 years working in Web Developer or Programmer function


    Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Passionate about and constantly learning new technologies, web trends and online communities
    • Experience developing websites in one or more of the following languages: Java, PHP, Python, Ruby, C# and VB
    • Experience with HTML, CSS and Javascript
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, such as the ability to troubleshoot application issues and solve business workflow problems
    • Experience administering web servers including Apache, IIS 6.0/7.0 and Nginx
    • Knowledge of web security best practices
    • Experience working with mobile technologies including iOS and Android
    • Experience with quality assurance or automated testing
    • Experience with REST APIs and OAuth
    • Highly self-motivated & independent
    • Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical colleagues

    Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.  Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
